All very good advice that i am seeing. We have been to "Camping World" a large RV dealer of new and used RVs so we know the various sizes and classes. Our driveway and where we will park the RV when not on the road makes if prohibitive to get one with a wheelbase too long which will cause it to bottom out when going up and down the driveway, we are downhill from the road, and pretty steep.
I am no stranger to motor vehicles so I know about date codes on tires and engine, drive-train issues. What I am looking for is motorhome specific advice, like what to check before buying used and what the drawbacks are maybe to different manufacturers. We are pretty set on a 22'-24' unit so I would like info on those, Class A's are out of the question for us. I'm retired, my wife is not so we have a budget to stick to and I think renting will take too much from our ability to purchase.
Ivylog - in the title of the thread it says first time buyer, we never RVed before, and your "twice the husband on 1/2 the money" is a little ornery to me. it may be your opinion but i wasn't born yesterday.
