Gene:
It was 8 years old when we bought it, so it wasn't outrageously expensive (just over $35K in 2010) It was sold in December last year for $24K, and still had less than 20,000 miles on it.
We made minor mods to the house to get it onto our 3rd driveway space, taking off about 8" of the roof overhang on the garage. We're lucky in that our HOA doesn't prohibit parking RV's and boats at home. Every 2nd house has a boat, since Anacortes is a waterfront community. We're across the street from waterfront homes with docks that are worth close to $750K more than our house!
When we bought the Class A, I was already in my 12th year of retirement, having bailed out of Boeing just before my 58th birthday. We finally realised we were dipping into our IRAs too much in order to be RVers. We didn't use the MH all last season, primarily because were were planning a big party for our 50th wedding anniversary.
We miss the travel, but not the expense. 8 mpg on $4.00 gas and $40 - $75 overnight campground fees were too much.
Good luck in your search.
