My wife and I recently started our travels around the USA. I am a Certified RV Inspector (think home inspector for RVs).
RV are more complicated than the home you are use to living in. Not only are the vehicles but also have all the amenities that you find in a home plus wheels.
I would recommend that you start with doing a very good inspection. I have some free checklists that I use to perform RV inspections. If you want a copy, just send me a message.
As far as did you do the right thing? Humans have a knack or 6th sense that sometimes we have to listen to. In my book Finding, Buying and Using the Perfect RV I discuss the process of finding that perfect RV. If it doesn't feel right it probably isn't. I think you probably did the right thing. Your Perfect RV is out there. Keep looking.
