Thanks to everyone that has contributed so far, I have used a lot of the advice given and I always enjoy a good info exchange with folks in general, and this is a good forum!
The only write-ups I found on this brand and line had to do with quality and were from around 2001 and I was wondering if they were ever flattened out. I have since found some other forum threads. I did hear of the manifold problem and the plugs having been replacement plugs.
I have to admit that I was hoping to find an E450 for the towing capacity (which this one is). I did go back today and opened the propane and water systems with the current owner. Went through the two systems and a few things weren't able to yesterday, all functional. As I think I mentioned in a previous post very little rust underneath and the front end and steering are solid. Overall best one I've seen for the money to date. So I did the only logical thing, made an acceptable counter offer to the asking price and will be picking it up tomorrow! Woo-hoo!
Will continue this thread as I expect to uncover little things and learn more from all you veterans. The saga will continue . . .
