This is a rookie question, but I don't want to break my stuff. I have the 15 ft rhinoflex hose kit complete with adapters. Now, I can twist off the bayonet (?) end that connects to the trailer ...

Yes. I didn't realize they have changed the design since I bought mine. There are videos in the link in your post that show how to remove the new style fittings.
