Running 3 AC's at once (50 amp /shore)

DH and I are looking at our first 5th wheel toy hauler purchase. Jayco Seismic Wave 400W. The one we are considering has three AC's. I understand that if you're using the generator, you can only have 2 AC's on at one time. Can we use all 3 at one time if we are fully hooked up? It would ruin the point of having the third if we could only use two since we may have folks in all three sections at once (master BR, living area, and garage for the kids). I've searched the internet but it would be nice to have a simple yes or no answer from someone familiar with it.

Also, DH seems pretty sure that his 2017 F350 (SRW) can handle this toy hauler. Dry weight is 14,652 I believe but not sure that includes 5500 Onan generator, third AC, etc. I saw one spec that put it around 15500. GVWR is 19000. His truck's specs are listed at 21100 or 20900. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Looking forward to joining the RV community.

Asking for patience and clarification here. I have looked over that pdf numerous times and even called Ford to clarify. The guy had to put me on hold and just came back with the max being 12900. Doesn't seem right for a F350 but here's what's on the truck. It does have the 6.7 Turbo Diesel, shorter bed, SRW, already came ready for the 5th wheel hitch to be installed, 3.55 gear ratio. If I go to this site http://www.ford.com/trucks/super-duty/2017/models/f350-platinum/ I'm under the impression that we should be ok hauling that Seismic 400W. This is why I have a wrangler - so much less confusing but then I'm not towing anything either.

Shitty gearing, heavy amenities being a Platinum and SRW I can see a 13k tow rating. There probably isn't a lot of payload left in that truck.

I'm left wondering why anyone would need to run 3 A/Cs at once. Arizona?

Last year for the hydro-plane races in Washington it was 105F with no hook-ups. You couldn't run your generator from 10:00PM to 6:00AM. It was already hot by 6:00AM. If I'd had three ACs, I would have been running them all trying to get the rig cooled back down.

  • I'm pretty sure the purpose of this forum was for newbies with questions (kinda implied in the title of this particular chat). To those that have answered, thank you. I would rather get my information from folks that have RV's and real world experience than a sales person trying to get a commission or endless searching on the web.

To those that have had douche bag answers (basically three out of the four replies on page two) - WHY? Do you not have better things to do than troll RV forums to spout pointless comments?

I would rather not make a 70K mistake. I have spent time on Jeep Wrangler forums and I can say that jeep folks at least know how to help another Jeeper out with INFORMATIVE answers.

I have unsubscribed from my own thread so no need to come back with snide comments b/c you feel the need to have the last word.
