We spent August and September in western Alberta, across British Columbia and Vancouver island this year. The provincial and national park campgrounds were usually full but most of the commercial campgrounds had some openings. We didn't have a schedule so we would tend to plan a few days at a time and call ahead for a reservation. Labor Day was a little difficult to find a spot but we were able to find an opening. The other area that was difficult was in Victoria but we were lucky and found a spot. One difference between the US and Canada parks is that most of the Canadian commercial parks we saw only had 30 amp hookups.
