Rv obsessions

Well I've been bitten by the RV bug.
more like mauled viscously by the RV beast.
I spent the better part of two years looking for an RV for my family and I. I finally bought a fixer in October and have spent almost every free minute I have working on it to better suit my needs.
my wife is getting a tad concerned lately. I have subscribed to multiple magazines and catalog mailing lists. I read almost every new post on multiple RV forums even though most do not pertain to my specific RV (class A) . I have had hobbies and interests before, but this new found obsession with the RV industry takes the cake. I've even discussed a career change to anything RV related. I've got this GI bill good towards a 4 year degree and if there was a major in recreational vehicles I'd be on it like white on rice.
any of you folks out there bitten by this bug?
if I had an unlimited budget, I'd have an RV collection that would put Jay Lennos classic cars to shame. Even my son points out every motor home we see while driving, asking to "go play on the bus"
Figured I'd share my enthusiasm, sorry moderators if this is the wrong place to post.

Welcome to our club.... The everything RV club
  • USMC,

If I were you and really had my sights set on working in the RV Industry, I'd pick a manufacturer and start studying every aspect about that company and their products.

A move to Indiana or Oregon might be in the future! LOL

    Welcome to RVitis!

Take two propane tanks and call me in the morning! LOL

Yes, it's a great avocation and a hobby to be sure. Have you ever thought about working with one of the major manufacturers? Working in engineering, or sales, or customer relations, or whatever field that you do on the "outside" (Gee, that sounds like you're in RV Prison!!)

    Seriously, welcome to the boards!

on the outside I guess I would be called a jack of all trades, master at some.
I've worked as a cook at a Chinese restaurant, waiter, plasma cutter at a scrap yard, dump truck driver for an aggregate co, Loss prevention detective, hospital security, UH-1N crew chief, hassmat response team, honor guard, motor transport, flight line tug operator, real estate photographer, and now most recently a stay at home dad of two ( hardest job thus far) along with full time college student. Never been fired, always in search of more rewarding work.
