RV park reservations

Are they always this informal?

I have only stayed at a few RV parks, and not any for the past few months. I had forgotten how they work.

I called up today and made reservations for two stays this spring at the same park. It's in a busy area, hard to get spots. The lady at the park took my name and dates of visits, and that was that. No confirmation number, no credit card info, etc.

I feel anxious about it -- what if they lose my reservation? I remember now that I felt this way in the fall, too, when I was staying at parks. They were all this informal.

Have you ever had a park not honor your reservation? Do park operators sometimes assume RV folks can just move on down the road if needed?

I will be staying at this park because it is near a hospital where a relative will be receiving treatment. It would be really rough if I couldn't be there, or couldn't there the whole time.

Should I call back and bother the poor park lady? She recently inherited the park from a relative who died, and is overwhelmed. I don't want to add to that.
