Heard back from the salesman today and he had come down quite a bit. Kind of miffed he tried to weasel out of his first quote saying he was just quoting the website, when I had the printout with the website quote and his very slightly lower initial quote I thanked him for getting back to me but it was still too high. Quoted him the internet price I had found and he came back close but not matching. Still a way from the RV Direct price.
Finally got a chance this afternoon to visit the other Jayco dealer in the 200 mile radius.
This one has been in business for 40+ years and I got better vibe from him. He was real honest about a past repair issue on the slide with this model that his shop had. They had to finally send it back to Indiana for repair. Suggested a few others to look at but admitted this might be my best match for my needs within the Jayco lineup. I'm going to see what he can do on price.
