Slide out position at home

We aren't new RVers but our new trailer is the first one we've had with a slideout. We store the trailer at home and leave the slideout out (and occasionally go in and out while it's at home). Any thoughts on whether leaving the slideout OUT will cause quicker wear and tear? Is it best to keep the slide out pulled in? Thanks!

  • We pretty much full-time during the summer, camphosting at two different parks. 30 days at one, then off to the 2nd one for 45-50 days, then back to the original park for another 30. The slide-out is out for those times and then we head back home. The slide-out is out until the threat of our first stow or if a heavy windstorm is predicted, then we retract the slide. It stays IN during the winter because we get pretty heavy snows on occasion. 40" at one time this past winter.
