I have 2 of the sliders if you want them. They are " make your own size ", just attach a piece of plywood and choose your width. You can have em if you pay for shipping. Just pm me.

i'd love to know / hear more about this "diy" slide for 30 bucks !
I built one for my electric cooler - the two 24 inch ACCURIDE slides are rated for 500 lbs & were 130 bucks, I'd love to know where someone is getting 72" slides (properly rated) for 30 bucks !

Me too! I probably wasn't clear in my post. He paid $30 for his two 30 inch sliders (62" extended).

I was hoping to hear from others that have made their own. Care to share a few more photos of yours? Thanks.

I don't have many photos of the build - its pretty simple, really....

I cut a 3/4 inch ply would "deck" for cooler to bolt onto, the slides (were originally) screwed into the 3/4 inch ply.

I had to raise the plywood "platform" 3.5 inches off the floor of my storage bay (due to height of the stiffening lip of my storage bays) - i raised the deck & slides by using 2x4's (bolted thru the storage bay bottom)....you can see the uncovered 2x4s in the one photo, where the cooler is slid out.

I've covered all of the boards w/ matching carpet so everything blends in well & theres even some "hidden" storage between the 2x4s.

my basement bay's are 24 inches deep so the longest slide rails that will fit are 24 inches - they extend 2x to 48 inches.

used accuride slides cost $102 before taxes and shipping
would love some less expensive slides that are the same quality
got some more projects to do
this one has held two different generators
and has doubled as a work table
the stacked 1*4's base raise the slides over the compartment lip
and allows for a little bit of storage underneath, spark plug wrench , bungees, generator accessories , adapters etc..
5/16 bolts go thru platform and thru compartment floor with fender washers and lock nuts underneath to hold everything tight

When I bought my used Newmar, it had a large DIY slide out tray. One day when I was turning a corner, the tray came loose and started to come out of the side of my RV -- almost clipped a metal guard rail. That would have been very expensive.

Needless to say I replaced the DIY slide. My point -- if you build one, make sure it has a good locking mechanism.

Otherwise, buy a pre-built . . .

accuride slides are available with or without locks. Accuride's lock will lock the slides/tray in AND out.

only ONE LOCKING SIDE is necessary (2 locks are a PIA) !

I'd also suggest using the heaviest weight rated slides you can afford & use a good heavy (if not sold) plat form of 3/4 inch wood - to prevent sagging or twisting of the slides
