North Beach appears to be a nice campground and it is near restaurants but not much else. I don't think the bus line goes out there. If you choose one of the parks on the east side of St. Augustine you could use public transportation to go most anywhere. You could only stay at Anastasia SP for 14 days but there is a nice KOA down the road and at least two other private parks. Carrabelle is only 20 miles from our winter home in Sopchoppy. Two beautiful campgrounds opened there last year, both right across from the beach, and there is always HoHum. There is no scheduled public transportation along US 98 between Tallahassee and Apalachicola but I would not be surprised if one of those CG's doesn't have some kind of shuttle bus. As IvyLog said, it is cooler in the Florida Panhandle but also much cheaper and is NOTHING compared to NH! lizzie
