Hello everyone! I was wondering if I might find some help here. Thinking of snowbirding this winter with my family. We are young-ish (40-50) and have children. Looking for some rv park recommendations. Southwest US area. A pool And warmer temps are a must. Green, lush environment where you can walk to stores outside of park. The closest "type" of park that we have stayed in is Las Vegas Oasis park. Are there any similar that anyone can recommend?

Southwest US is a HUGE AREA. You need to be a little more specific. Also, a lot of the RV parks will be 55+ and do not take children. Green and lush are not SOUTHWEST. This is a desert area, from mid-Texas all the way to San Diego. Why not look at state parks or country parks for a week or two at a time and see what is available.

More info....like when this winter and how long you want to be out?

Golden Village in Hemet,CA.(priced about like Oasis, more pools, ball courts etc and more walkable to stores than Oasis)

The Rio Grande Valley of Texas is greener and warmer at night. Americanna near Palmview and does not have age restrictions

Pick the cities/towns/areas you might be interested in. i.e. if you select Phoneix, the app will list all the RV Parks in that area. Then just go the web site of each of the listed parks to help you pick out the park that meets your needs and requirements.Because some RV parks have certain restrictions i.e. 55yrs. or older, no children, min. length of RV i.e. 28' or more, RV's 10 yrs. or less might require an inspection by staff(they just don't want RV's that are not taken care of). This is a nice way of saying "they don't want junky RV's in the park".

Thank you all again.... I have been perusing the Good Sam website and have found a number of options. I searched under Palm Desert because it is one of the few snowbird communities I know. There are a handful of options that would work. Any other towns to research?

Also, my kids are really good about entertaining themselves with books, iPads, swimming pools, walks, cooking, yoga classes, really anything. I am not concerned that they will get bored. Remember, we homeschool, so they are used to hanging out with the family for most days. The sunshine will be enough to keep us all happy!

Yes I did READ that but threw in the additional info as most kids will get bored fast in a Snowbird Park so just maybe they have or can get off-road toys. My boys would have hated staying in a Snowbird park as well as myself today. Just trying to provide an alternative! Easier to drive to stores than keep young people entertained, if they are outdoorsy.

Again, they don't have a car and while the river is there for the kids, no way to walk anywhere for shopping, etc.

No off road toys to bring.... Las Vegas Oasis and the Golden Village in Hemet, CA seem my best options. I thank you all for the suggestions. I didn't know what was out there, but now I am learning more.

Having stayed at Las Vegas Oasis, there is NOTHING in the rest of the SouthWest that comes close!!! Since I live in AZ and have traveled most of the SouthWest, you are going to have to forget about Green & Lush in the Winter, Monsoon Season Maybe. If you have off-road toys you can stay at the parks in Amado, AZ, http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/arizona/amado/de-anza-rv-resort-98 and leave from the park with your toys. Good luck!

The KOA in Apache Junction, Arizona might be a good option. Plenty to do and see in the area.

32 feet is all I want to manage right now! I would rather rent one once I got there if I needed it. Plus, living up north, all we have are big suvs. So, a tow car would involve purchasing another car. That's why a location within walking distance to town would be ideal. We aren't coming to sight see, as much as just coming to live, avoiding the coldest months up north.

I think your situation will be so much better if you can find a way to take a car with you. You can buy a tow dolly and tow pretty much any front wheel drive car with no modifications. You can even rent a dolly one way from UHaul.
