We camp here during the summer - reservations in July.
Plenty to do around North Beach CG, but you are limiting yourself to walking distance. There are nature/bike trails in nearby Guana State Park.
And if you like to fish, your in the right place.
If you can't get into downtown St.Augustine, it would be a loss. Call NB and see if they can give you any info on public transportation.
You did say you didn't want to freeze so keep in mind that it does get cold in this area those two months. Daytime temps are pleasant though.
