Depends on truck perhaps. I cannot see the hitch in my rear view mirror nor over the shoulder out the window. I can see the king pin and I center it in the bed, back up until I'm close then get out and check. A couple tries and I'm hitched up.
Backing a 5th into a tight spot I find much more difficult than a TT. Because the pivot point is further forward response time for turning is slower than on a TT. Have to start straightening much sooner with a 5th.
