Take the clothes out between wash and dry cycle and shake them out. Separate loads - i.e. washer loads can be twice as large as dryer loads. I tend to hang dry as many clothes as possible such as tee shirts and light weight shorts. Don't buy clothes that wrinkle easily. Don't use too much soap.
