I'm a light sleeper, and prefer a WalMart over a truck stop. Even if you park near the restaurant portion of a Flying J, you still could catch a drunken brawl at 2 AM like we did once.... plus there's the loudspeaker blaring that a shower is available for a truck driver; and the trucks entering that are using Jake Brakes.... the list goes on :-)
But the more we travel, the more we like to get off the road shortly after sunset if possible - using an RV park. Too many critters on the road after dark....
