We upgraded from a 5er to a gas class a this past winter. In our case we are still just a summer 3 week trip and a few weekend local trips until we retire in about 8 more years. For us it boiled down to floorplan and price. Our '09 was a repo in great shape with low mileage. Would I have liked it in diesel? Yes, but that would have been much more than we wanted to pay. We are debt free and want to stay that way. If we were retired and the kids were done with schooling it might be another story. Go with the best you are comfortable paying for. Travel is no fun if you have to pinch pennies. :)
