- trailgranny50ExplorerGot decent buck on son's lease yesterday evening. 200# 7pt. (8th broken off fighting). Not a splashy rack but nothing to be ashamed of, unless you're just trophy hunting. Us, we don't eat the horns so take more does but when a mature buck, 5-6 comes by and still doesn't have big horns I don't feel bad shooting one. Let several spikes, 4 and sixes and the double rack young "franken buck" pass by. Very few does and our place used to be over populated with them. 23° here this morning so glad there's box blinds to sit in. Getting to old for this but just going is good. May start hunting with just camera.

- pcoplinExplorer IIGonna load up for late season coastal Elk. Buddy's dad got a stud bull from Wenaha.
ANy others have luck? - finaddictExplorerHave to wait until the end of this weekend for campsite pics (if the snow is not too deep, the fog not too thick and the mud not too overwhelming.....
Was happy for my son though, who got his first buck this year after 2 years of hiking with guns......

Negative. Got on some does, and found a coyote in his bed. Didn't have the heart to pick him off.
I really dislike west side hunting. Haha

I just got back from conference in Klamath Falls, stayed at the Flying Y Ranch and walked this am to nice does outside of my room.
Made me miss being where you are vs. my "resort" I had to stay in...still cool to be that close! - pcoplinExplorer II
- trailgranny50ExplorerMaybe they're all too busy hunting to post? We went muzzleloader opening weekend last Friday. Got a dink buck, missed a nice one and lost a doe, tracked her two hours in the dark till no more trail. Son went this morning and got a real big bodied tall 9pt for his birthday......he just turned 43 today. Getting old I guess as he almost considered pulling it up into a tree and dropping it into the truck. 150# minus guts. I didn't go with him as I was cutting up the one we got earlier. Boondocked at lease. Pleased my jury rigged propane system worked fine. Still fine tuning that. New table set up worked well too. Nice to be away even if only for three days.
