stopping for a single night - rest area or rv park?

Just getting into this and have a toy hauler with no slides - what's the general consensus on midway stops between point A & B. Is it worth the hassle to set up everything for a single night in an RV...

Staying at a rest area or WM type place is also a matter of convenience. They are usually located either right on the highway, or next to it, so there is no hunting down of the nearest CG.
