For me, it depends on the situation. If I'm on a long trip, I usually plan only 1 stop. Going to Myrtle Beach, I know I can plan a stop at a campground at somewhere past the half way mark and I can make it there next day. To Florida, however, I do my longest haul possible on the first day and stop wherever is convenient, be it a Cracker Barrel or Wally World.
However, there are places I avoid. Walmart in Walterboro, SC for example. Stopped for a Friday night, about a half dozen other RVs in the lot. Local yahoos decided at around 2-3am to race around the parking lot in their ATVs revving the engines to the rev limiter.
