I too would not buy a set of tires without checking their DOT date, but I would have to scratch my head by implying that buying a three year old set that had been on the shelf only would be considered bad. Know what I mean? For warranty sake, though I would definitely make sure the DOT was recent. Just some thoughts.
We usually go some wheres once a month except for the end of the year through the first part of the next year.Don't want to be gone if their is a freeze.Don't like busted pipes. The trailer usually sits from 1st of December through the last of Febuary. We belong to a few camping club chapters.Plus we have other things going on during the year. So their is usually a get together somewheres. When the trailer is at home and sitting under the carport . I keep tire covers on the tires.I still say tires are cheaper then repairing the RV and buying tires. Plus I buy the tires at my convience . Where, when you have a blow out it is not at your convience.
