Charles,
I was smart to ask. And, Yes, you will get lots of opinions.
We did it all, and we did it most of the ways it can be done.
So much of what answers you might get depends on what your plans are and what resources you currently have available. If you fill that in, we can be more specific.
As an example, if you already have a vehicle that is comfortable and capable as a tow vehicle, that changes things a lot. If you do not have anything more than a typical passcar, that leaves the travel trailer option out. The cost to acquire would be prohibitive.
If you are not comfortable driving a large vehicle that leaves out motorhomes.
That still leaves pop-ups. This is not something that you should start now.
If none of these answers work for you, then seriously consider the passcar and motel route. If you want to go to campgrounds, consider that many have cabins available. That could be an nice change.
Lastly, but not leastly, is where do you plan to go in two months? If it is urban areas like the east and west coast megpolii, there are few and expensive crampgrounds on both. If it is out to the grand country (fly-over places), the scenery may be grand, but temporary accommodations can be tough to do.
So, give us an outline of your possible plan and what you have available.
