towing a chevy 2008 colorado

Just purchase a gas Motor Home and have a 2008 chevy colorado automatic transmission. Can I tow this vehicle by putting it in neutral or not? Does anybody tow this Vehicle.

If its a 4 wheel drive model, then yes, you can tow it 4 wheels down, by putting the transfer case in neutral (not the auto transmission).
The detailed instructions are in the owners manual.

If its a 2 WD version, no you can not tow it 4 wheels down, without modifications.
    X2!!!

Pulled a 4x4 auto trans about 80,000 mi before we switched to the 4x4 1500.

  • We have a 04 Colorado 4X4 Crew Cab. Its the 4 wheel drive transfer case that gets switched to neutral, then it can be towed 4 down.
I don't think a 2 wheel drive can be towed 4 down, I don't think the transmission gets lubed unless the engine/input shaft is turning.
I think you could put a drive shaft disconnect on it if one is available.
