Anyone know of any kind of system available to make the raising and lowering of the ramp any easier for us old timers?

Find a strong point and mount a light duty winch at the roof inside and an eyebolt on the end of the ramp. Then just hook the cable to the eyebolt and push the button.
Just be careful not to keep pulling once the door is up.
