The fifth wheel might be an option. It is a little shorter overall with the hitch in the bed, but only by about 5 feet based on my studies. One other thought I didn't mention is I don't like what the hitch might do to my truck bed, and I've heard of a few mishaps hooking up a fifth wheel on this forum. I like that if I make a mistake hooking up my bumper pull it won't fall on my truck. I will admit that I have seen some fifth wheels that wow me.
