Battery solenoid? Do you mean starter solenoid? Either way, not sure what it has to Do with hooking up a maintainer to you chassis (start) batteries.

Is it a 12V or 24V system?
Is that switch in your pic just a cutoff switch (looks like it) or a battery combiner?
You’ll hook it up somewhere in that picture and likely where you first suggested or straight to the batteries but understand the system first
