Sounds like a fun trip but your question is totally open ended, unless you’re really looking for suggestions to plan your entire vacation save for the Yellowstone NP portion.
Wholly different question if you’re just powering straight thru to YNP with a quick overnight stay along the way. (No one knows how far you can/want to drive in a day…)
comparatively, it sounds like you may be inadvertently asking for recreational advice/ideas along the way. Also totally open ended as to what you want to see and what you want for accommodations along the way.
If finding places to overnight quick on a beeline to YNP and back, map your route and find anywhere close to the route close to your intended stopping point. Then try to make a reservation.
Actually just asking for rv parks to stop along the way overnight until we get to our rv destination. We'll be leaving in a Friday and checking into our reservation on Sunday.
