two Honda eu2000 not starting A/C

My wife and I are new to Camping. about a month ago we bought a 2010 Jayco eagle superlite 30.5 DBSA. We bought a two Honda eu2000 (4000 watt combined)with the link to run our camper when no electricity available.

Now I read that when first starting the a/c I need to kick the eco throttle off of generators. however once a/c is running, I kick it back down to eco and everything works great until the camper cools down and the a/c switches off.

My problem is that the generator will not kick up to start the generator. in fact, for a second, it kills all the electricity in the camper. So in the middle of the night, I'm climbing out of the camper to shut off the eco throttle so the a/c is able to kick back on.

both of my camping buddies have eu3000 and they have no issues with generator keeping up with a/c (same size unit as mine) in eco throttle mode.

am I doing something wrong? any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • When the a/c tries to kick on the generators don't throttle up like they should. they do when we use microwave and coffee maker kick on. Talked to Honda and they were not much help.

When running the AC just leave the ecco throttle off. When the load drops and the AC needs less power the generators will throttle back on their own. When the AC kicks back on creating the heavier load the Honda's are free to throttle back up unlike when they are locked into the ecco mode. :C
That's the exact opposite of how mine work.

That is odd. Are the cables which connect the two too small to handle the surge?
