I think you can get a great Class C or A for $50000. I wouldn't get a new one even if I could "afford" one. The depreciation is just too steep (like a car only more dollars), you can still have a lot of problems and a warranty isn't worth the extra cost of buying new. We bought a 2002 30 ft. Class C in 2013 for $23000. So far it's been a wise purchase. It's still worth around $20000 and the costs of repairs has been acceptable. If we had paid around $90000 for a comparable new one it would now be worth about $60000(I'm guessing). That depreciation will pay for a lot of repairs. Any way to try to "protect yourself" from repairs expense is not a good value on average. If you can't afford repairs, you can't afford the item.
