Using a CB radio

I have a CB in my daily driver car, I listen off and on, truckers are actually pretty decent on the air in my area, very little if any profanity.
The serious problems are when atmospheric conditions are right and all 40 channels are full of foul mouthed people nation (and sometimes world) wide shooting skip.
I do plan on installing a radio in the tow rig, but for now we use a handheld CB with rubber duck, it works OK for emergency use.
I am studying up to take the ham test, I do plan on installing a 2m radio after I get my license (I have a scanner I have been listening in on to learn some more).
