walmart wipers

I read recently that someone replaced his 32" wipers for 28" walmart wipers at half the cost...I tried that but was unable to fit the Walmart wipers over the existing J Arm on my Class A Coach......did I miss something...gave up and bought the 32" at Camping World for 32 bucks each...

  • I have a Toyota minivan and I keep the original wipers going with new rubbers from Toyota at a fraction of the cost of new wipers. I wish I could get new rubbers for the motorhome, too, but I don't see them in the stores.

No he did not just buy the wrong ones. None of the automotive blades, even ones from auto parts stores, will not fit my MH wiper arms. My MH wiper arms are wider than automobile arms. I ordered the proper Tru Vision blades from RV Wholesalers. Even these blades fit very tight on the wiper arm; I filed down the wiper arms and now the blades fit properly. The original blade were almost impossible to get off because they fit so tight on the wiper arm; I ended up having to cut them off.

You're correct.....also I actually tried both Advance and AutoZone but my "J" Arm adapter was too wide for anything I tried.......

My coach has 28" whipers.. I got one Trico Perfect fit for 10 bucks less change.

Now, as you might suspect, it did not fit.

The reason it did not fit has to do with how the whiper blades attach to the arm,, On my Workhorse there is a pivot pin which is a bolt with a Nylock nut.

On the perfect fit said pivot pin was a rivet already in place with a plastic adapter over it.

I grabbed ye old Dremel hand grinder and the Rivet went by by, enlarged ONE of the holes (the small one) left behind and the pivot bolt fit perfectlly..

    It is installed now.

  • I sold car parts for several years. Many wipers are universal fit and come with several adapters to fit different applications. Some are exact fit and only fit specific applications. That's what you should be looking for when buying them for your MH. Pick up a set of the universal fits and the right adapter should be in the package. I'd give a place like Advance Auto, Autozone, or Napa a try instead of Walmart. The guys working at most of these stores will help you out and get you the part you need. During my years working retail auto parts, I installed wipers and batteries in several MH's, hundreds or cars, trucks and even a hearse. LOL. Next time, give one of these places a try.
  • Wal mart sell the same wipers as every one else. Wipers are like batteries and oil, there are only a few manufacturers and they all custom label their products. you must have just bought the wrong ones.
