Hi all, A quick question for all those who know more about RV'ing than we do... We purchased a Salem Cruise Lite 195BH from an RV dealer in October of 2012. It is a 2013 model. We have not been camping (my wife was 35 weeks pregnant at the time), and had the dealership winterize it before we took delivery of the unit. It has been sitting in an outside storage facilty since, we have taken it out a few times just to drive it. We are getting ready for out first camping trip, and notice a wet spot on the ceiling over the door. The spot is approx. 1 inch wide and maybe 1 to 2 feet long... Would this be a warentee issue? What would cause this? We have insured that the RV was level and all doors where tight prior to being in storage.... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Defiantly a warranty issue. It may be missing caulk from around the TV antenna or some other opening. It should be an easy fix but let them fuss with it and repair any issues.You are advised to check your roof carefully for missing caulk at least 2 times a year. I do mine when I wash it in the spring and fall and before long trips.Enjoy the new camper and don't let this ruin your fun!

Frustrating and I know you are in panic mode. However, it is under warranty. Make sure your dealer knows immediately and get it taken care of. On the first rain storm my new MH leaked. Those things happen. These RVs are coming off an assembly line. Sometimes a few things are missed. All will be OK. The important thing is make sure you get it repaired under warranty.One thing to remember. The squeaky wheel gets the oil. You have to make sure they correct the problem.

Definitely a warranty issue and although one here advised to check your seam calking twice a year, having purchased yours October 2012, is too new and should never have had a leak. The first year ours was idle through the winter, I continually went out and checked the ceilings for evidence of a leak and continue to do so each winter. Same with the calking. Call your dealership tomorrow without delay and get it in. They need to do a thorough inspection to make sure they've isolated the leak and the damage. Good thing you caught it quickly.

If the dealer can pressure test the rig, I would have him do that. He may {should} do it for free.

Make sure the dealer notifies the builder so they have it on record. My MH had a problem with the shower which was repaired under warranty. Later, not long after the warranty had expired, the shower pan developed a crack. Because I had had a problem with the shower earlier, it was repaired under warranty.

Clearly it is a warranty issue and one that must be corrected soon. Water leaks can cause serious damage if allowed to continue so get it taken care of ASAP.

Contact Dealer in writing and keep a diary of everything that gets talked about. I am currently going through a similar problem. My coach was less than a year old and it leaked. At first they told me roof leaks are not warrenty. A Coach should not leak within a year! They have now agreed that it is manufacturing defect and it is getting repaired. They have lots of the interior removed, mold remediation specialists are involved as well as outside consultants. I am working with the manufacturerer as well as the dealer. Remember the saying "The squeeky wheel gets the oil". Keep on them daily and make sure you are satisfied with the results. Be involved with their technicians. See what is happening and understand how the repairs are getting done!
