  • looks like all is well now. everything checked out but I did find that the hose from the pump to the waterlines had a split in it so I cut a short piece off and re tightened the gear clamp and is good. Thanks for all your comments as they will come in handy down the line I am sure. PJD by the way I did check what was suggested
  • Yes I'm with Old-Biscuit, check for air in the lines. I would start with the outside shower if it has one.
  • There are several possible causes and MOST of them mean a leak somewhere but not NECESSARILY water. Here are a few things to check.
    1. Since you just de-winterized the trailer, check to be sure the winterizing VALVE used to draw antifreeze from the jub is in the correct position and completely closed.
    2. Make sure the low point drains are completely closed, not seeping water under the trailer.
    3. Make sure the pop off valve and drain plug in your water heater are not seeping water (again, outside of the trailer).
    4. consider that it COULD be the pump diaphram itself that is bleeding pressure into the FW tank (again, no leak inside the trailer)
    5. Make sure the dog shower is completely turned off and not leaking outside the trailer.
    6. Check the pressure water connection to be sure it's not seeping water back out the fill connection. If the button inside was pushed with full pressure on the water system it may (usually) have blown the O ring off the seal.
    7. Check fittings at all faucets for signs of leaks. Don't forget the toilet inlet valve. For what it's worth, your FW storage tank is NOT pressurized.

    Good luck / Skip
  • thanks for the information and I will double check all fittings etc. PJD

Probably the 10 % you didn't/couldn't check, it only takes one.

  • and

1.check your fresh water fill cap. Make sure it is not cross threaded and is on tight.

2.check your shore water inlet and make sure the screen with valve is set properly. Sometimes they stick.

Both of these not tight and working properly will make the pump keep coming on because it can't pressurize because of air is coming in.
  • If I'm understanding you correctly, the water pump is doing a quick "Burp" meaning it's running for just a second or so?

If so, go around to all your fixtures and make sure the water is turned off on each fixture. This includes your outside shower if you have one.

Hopefully you find a water knob not shut all the way and the water pump is just pressurizing the tank. If that doesn't stop it from running every once in a while, You may have a leak somewhere.
  • If you mean by "blurping" it comes on every 10 sec, it sounds as though you have a leak. Start looking at all your fresh water plumbing. The one way valve on the city connection could be leaking as well. A seal leak for the impeller would do this as well. Make sure the water heater/anode is not leaking. Every 10 sec could be a significant leak.
