Thank you all for your awesome help! I feel very welcomed already, and I haven't even set foot in the US yet!
overbrook - 22' BT Cruiser looks very nice, Class C 20-25' seem like really good value for money, I know they don't look as nice as some of the Class A on the outside, but certainly feel just as premium on the inside!
What I really like about class C is that they have a bed on top of the cabin that can be there full time and doesn't need to be built each time you want to sleep.
Spleenstromper - THANK YOU! We are really excited about it!! We always wanted to go RV'ing here in Europe, but with the price of petrol at $11 a gallon it never really seemed worthwhile, even for just weekends away!
donn - I'll have to look into this thanks!
DiskDoctr - Many thanks! We will try to be productive, but not before having a whale of a time! I keep hearing this regarding distances. I must admit I am still getting my head around this! It will hit home when I have to do my first back to back 6 hour drives, I'm sure.
We have indeed visited NYC several times, its similar to London, and if we choose to go there we are looking for more space, so we will probably have to commute to work, which is fine. But like I said, we might fall in love with some random location somewhere in the US and decide to park our RV and never move again… adventure!!
dcason- I've checked taxes, and they don't seem as ridiculous as here, wages are about the same and cost of living is lower.
Florida would be awesome, we speak fluent Spanish and its my wife's dream location, but I fear the humidity and not as many job opportunities might be a deal breaker, we will see!
Boondocking is what we plan on doing the most, which means needing a generator, big enough water tanks and be OK with a little bit of a rougher road, the only issue is that we still don't really know how to pronounce boondocking..
obgraham - many thanks! I think you are right, rent a car in Florida and go visit a few private sellers.
Monaco Montclair- Many thanks! What class c do you have? did you buy it new? how did you find it! :)
Escargot - haha the American way? I'm joking, I just need to know how the tax-system works thats all, since I will not really have a "home" for the first few months at least.. If I make it to Cali I will make sure to get in touch!
Big - Katuna- Thanks! You should do it! :) Florida is something I keep hearing when buying RV, my wife would be delighted! I don't really want to tow a car, I understand why people would, but I rather keep it simple, even if it means getting a smaller class C, 20-25 seems about the right size, any recommendations?
B+ is indeed a good option, I already feel it might come down to finding a good deal.. Do you think going through a dealer is a good option? any recommendations? Many thanks!
empty_nest - Many thanks! I can only agree!
frank damp - Thank you! I hear its beautiful, added it to the to-do list!!
Valhalla - great advice thanks! I might just have to find a really good dealer and spend a day or two looking and driving different RV sizes. Any recommendation?
