Don't worry about it. When you buy your Prevost next year you'll still be under max weight limits. With the tandem axle Prevost you can haul 36,000 on the rear and 20,000 on the steer. You still won't be close to those weights. Until then while you're driving around in your Class C you can still haul around your wife's rock collection.

but I believe that in the future, that States & the feds, will be looking for more money, & to that end they will be adding restrictions for length in addition to weight & any other way they can think of.

Here's some enlightenment for you - there are already limits on length, width, height, and things you aren't even aware. Have "they" been fining you for any of those?

And as far as that weight, 20,000 per axle, what makes you think they can't lower that at any time they choose.

What makes you think they will? There's never been any push to reduce weights but instead moves to increase weight limits. Take off the tin foil hat and think about it. 20K per axle is the current fed standards. If they lowered the weight limit how many trucking companies do you think would go out of business? Oh wait, facts don't fit in with the conspiracy theories does it.
