This is what I've always heard and read.
As for changing from "class" to "type", I suspect that is to help reduce confusion with driver license classes.
OP - I wouldn't cross out Cs either. Some have an entertainment center instead of a bunk. And a bunk can be used for extra storage and/or grandkids, etc.
