OP: You can't just leave your past home town without having a new address.
To get that new address - even if it's temporary - you'll have to set up a mail forwarding services. We've used Escapees RV Club for 18 years with no problems.
Set up you mail forwarding and they'll give you a legal address.
Put in a change of address with your now local post office to your mail forwarding address and they'll forward all your mail to that new address.
In the meantime, start contacting those who send you mail regularly and have them change your address to the mail forwarding address. This way you'll soon be ending having mail sent to your old address.
When you want your mail - wherever you happen to be in the U.S., first see if the RV park will accept your mail. If not, seek out the nearest small-town P.O. and get their General Delivery address. You can do this online with the U.S. Postal Service site.
Then call or email your mail forwarder and have them send your mail package to the RV park or to General Delivery. We've never had problems with General Delivery. It usually takes about 3 days to receive your mail.
When you find your new house, you'll then have a new address. Keep your mail forwarding for a few months yet to make sure everything is now being sent to your new house.
It sounds complicated but it will soon run smoothly. Good luck!
