We use both the disposable cartridges or one of the propane tank on the trailer as needed. We normally place the grill on a portable table or campground table and place the propane tank nearby (within 10') using a 10' propane hose. We don't use the propane line they provided as we DO NOT LIKE HAVING THE GRILL ANYWHERE NEAR THE TRAILER.. For safety reasons, we just prefer not having a BBQ grill near the trailer.
