I used to see all the raves about Weber Qs and was a bit skeptical. We had a RoadTrip for several years and eventually got sick and tired of it's design flaws and substandard quality. Got a brand new, still in the box Q1200 off CL for about 1/2 the cost of a store-bought one. The Webers are definitely well-built and now I understand all the positive reviews. We use a BBQ a lot and rarely use the cooktop inside.
However, there are a few things about the Weber I don't like are:
It is taller and to get it into the pass-through compartment I have to remove the hinge pins and put the lid back on when the lower 1/2 is in, you can't boil water in a pot and there isn't a full size grate for it (it would block the air flow too much) and to use a frying pan, you have to partially close the lid.
Weber or someone would do well to design a BBQ tailored specifically for RV-ers.
