I started tent camping with my parents when I was six or seven yrs. old. My Dad had 3 weeks vacation. We made it as far as Yellowstone and the Tetons from Cincinnati and back on those trips. When my Dad retired, they bought a TT and hit the road when they pleased. They'd call every so often to tell me where they were. Then they swapped the TT for a Class C and pulled a VW Bug for a toad. They spent winters in Florida, finally in an RV park near Cape Canaveral because my Dad loved to watch the rockets. They finally swapped it for a double wide in the same CG. After my Dad passed away, I drove my Mom down each winter and flew home and reversed the procedure in the spring. By then, she had friends at the CG. When she passed away, I drove down, cleaned out the double wide and sold it to the CG owner. I was still working, and didn't have time to deal with it in person.
I retired early in '98 at the ripe old age of 52, bought a 'B' and hit the road. Swapped for a 'C' and Jeep toad in 2003. My first trip was to Alaska, a place my Dad always wanted to see but didn't make it. I'm still missing Washington, Oregon and Hawaii, but I'll do WA. and OR. some day. Hawaii won't happen until they build a bridge. :)
