My dad grew up in NYC, and camping wasn't his thing, though we went a couple of times. My mom even took us kids for my brother's birthday, he wanted to go camping! (camping wasn't her thing either) I learned more by being a Law Enforcement Explorer Scout. We camped under the stars out to the National Law Enforcement Explorer Conference in Fort Collins, CO (in a school bus!). Even went camping in the snow during those years. In college my roommates introduced me to spelunking (not really my thing).
During my kids growing up we camped numerous times, and survived many thunderstorms, high winds, and constant rain at times, and had a great time. Everytime I walked into campgrounds I would feel very relaxed, still happens today. I'd been researching RVing for a long time, and finally made the jump last year. (kids all in college now) We had a great first year outing, and look forward to many more! I love traveling, love camping, love not sleeping on the ground, and having my home with me!!
Now its a matter finding more time.
