We're looking at bunkhouses. I too am on a tight budget and the DH has dreams of an airstream. One day we will have one. Right now we're shopping for bunkhouses under 15K.
We considered 5th wheels, but b/c my dh has a high profile truck it's too tall to tow a 5th wheel. You might want to consider combined height as well.
I've found some great used Jayco's within a 150mile radius of Memphis for under 15. We plan to use ours till the kids get older and then buy something really nice.
RV trader has some great listings, as does Craigslist. We also area working with a salesman at a local dealership. I figure between the 3 places we can find what we're looking for in our budget. Some advice is to go to a dealership and look. No, you're not buying a brand new one, but you can get a feel for certian brands and sizes that way. Keystone makes brown ones, but they are out of my budget.
