One thing I see on this board all the time is posters asking about a certain model of RV or just general floor plan questions. I thought we experienced campers could list some things we have found out about our RV's that have or would make life easier.
I'll start.
When looking at a unit with slides, make sure you look at it with the slides both in and out. A very large issue for us is access to the toilet and refrigerator when on the road. This allows access if we find a safe place to pull off and want to grab a drink or cold sandwich out of the fridge.
You know, this is one of the reasons that we bought a no-slide TT. Our last one had a super slide that just about doubled the size of the living space. When we stopped en route, we could move the slide out enough to get by, so it didn't seem to be a problem. Then one morning, as we were getting ready to head out, we couldn't get the slide to budge. It was very hard for DH & I to get through the trailer to the bathroom with the slide in. It was impossible to get my handicapped son through the space. We had to cancel our Thanksgiving trip!
If I ever have another trailer with a slide, you bet I'll be checking with the slide in AND out.
