Where to find it?

Hello everyone, I am new to RV's and would like help finding information a couple of subjects, here goes:

1. Where can I find out what brand axle I have. I have a Heritage Glen 300BH from Forest River (2014)

2. Where can I get a good book on the Mechanics of TT, such as brakes, electrical and such. I have owned all the shop manuals for every car I have owned. I am automotive handy and know my way around cars and trucks. I have never worked on electric brakes and would like a good book to show haw they operate and maintain.

3. Also any other manuals that would be a help to me. I have a degree in electronics so I grasp the electricaal aspect pretty good but wouldn't mind a good reference book.

thanks. sorry about the lenght:@

  • Have you looked at the documentation that came with your rig? My new Jayco had manuals for all vendor components that were used in my trailer. Both user, maintenance, and installation. Naturally it depends on the component and the vendor, but most were complete with exploded views, part #,s and any thing else you would need to know. The Dexter axle manual is especially complete and concise. My manuals fill a 3 inch binder.
    I just glanced at the Heritage Glen site and your trailer comes with EZ Lube axles which is a Dexter product.

  • The mfg., of course, would be a good resource. There should also be a tag, plate, or sticker on the axle, itself.

    I think Dexter has an online pictured tutorial on brakes and bearing service. When you identify the mfg. of the axle, you could ask about a printed manual. They may supply one.

    Here's a couple of links that may help;
