Why are boondocking sites so hard to find online?

I've found searching for a good boondocking location very difficult online. Is that because they are like fishing holes? I.e., no one wants to share where the good spots are? What I'd like to fin...

You want to park for free. this means nobody is getting paid.. now if you are willing to pay rent then the owner of the site has money for advertising, but if it's free. No such joy, So about the only ones that are EASY to find are BLM (government) sites. Cause. well they get paid anyway.
