Winter camping

Good chance early 2017 I will be buying my first ever RV , Class A or C. I like cold weather. What should I look for if I want to use the RV during cold winter season ?

  • Heated floors. Seriously, the floors get cold and the cold penetrates thru your feet and legs and you feel cold. Whatever you buy I suggest an area rug or something that will add another layer for warmth on the floor.
  • If you're serious about Winter camping look for a rig that is factory built to handle it, not some retrofit unit.
  • enclosed heated tanks
    dual pane windows
    a 50 amp service
    a hydrohot heating system
    a heated "basement"

Most of the above are not available to class B designs.
  • The holding tanks should be heated, you may want to consider getting double pane windows, and the fresh water tank and water lines should be in a heated area. Many companies market 4 season packages that include these things plus additional insulation.
