winterizing

I purchased a new Rockwood trailer this ummer and it has the new anti freeze opening on the side of the trailer that has a hose fitting to administer the atnifreese to the systtem. I have winterized many trailers but not with this new opening on the side next to the city water opening. My question is, how do you get the antifreeze into the system using this new type system. There must be a hose or something, I do not have, to screw onto the antifreeze bottle. I looked for info in my books, but of course there are no directions. Just how to turn the valves off etc, which I know. Beats me, what is the answer???

    Yah, I don't think I've seen the new port the OP is asking about, but my first thought was "Nooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!' Is seems like the ice just finished melting, and I'm not looking forward to winter at all.

    I found it helps to set the jug about the elevation on the winterize connection. Makes it easier to draw the antifreeze out than sitting on the ground.

    Thanks BB Tex I have;some old hose around and will cut a piece of it and have it ready to winterize. Thaats the part I didn't know, using a hose to get into the antiu freeze jug, thought threr was some hose or something they didn't give me.

    If it is like mine, there will be a switch to select winterize. I turn another switch to bypass the water heater. Then I get about 3 gallons of antifreeze, a short hose to connect to the winterize connection, the other end in a jug of antifreeze, and turn on the water pump. It will pump the antifreeze from the jug into the water lines. I open a faucet until I see antifreeze come out, close it, and move to the next faucet, until I have done them all including the toilet. That also puts antifreeze in the traps. Also do the outside shower connection. And I have a washer/dryer so I also winterize the pipes to it by running the washer thru the cold line and then thru the hot line it until I see antifreeze in the washer from each. I also open the low point drain lines until I see antifreeze come out each of those.
    And I drain the fresh water tank and the water heater. No antifreeze in those.

    I am leaving Mi for amonth or so, and before I get back I will have to winterize thetrailer. Just want to be ready! !
