We would buy another in a heartbeat, though we would have to total ours to give it up. We have driven ours 30K miles in about a year and a half, going from Key West, up the west coast, into Alaska, up the Dalton Highway, and back down through Montana and Wyoming, across Arizona and New Mexico. Yes, it can be loud for the 30 seconds required to accelerate on an on ramp, and 3-10 minutes of a steep mountain (we have done 12 percent grades), but typically, it doesn't 'scream.' Would I rather have a rear engine diesel? Not really. The generator is loud, the engine is loud (unless you are inside the front), and the $50K+ price tag (plus higher maintenance) is better spent on traveling in our opinion.
Diesels typically have a higher GVWR and so greater cargo capacity. If we really needed to carry more stuff or had a need for a much longer coach, we might consider it. But we are very happy with our short bus and have no desire to go bigger.
